I've been sitting on this half finished colouring (among loads more) for almost a month now, so I quickly finished it off and threw it up here.

Having never played Chrono Trigger (the game this character comes from) I had no idea what sort of background would be appropriate. If anyone can think of something simple that I can do, I'll give it a go. Anything's got to be better than this green slab.

Oh and this is the 10th time I've coloured Matt's work. That's pretty close to my record.

(I've coloured 11 of :iconkidnotorious:'s pieces)

Well Frog lives in a forest so a tree motif might have worked. Or since the game did focus on time travel, maybe "streams of time passing"? :)

Nice work! I dig your method of coloring metal, and the white key lighting really brings out a lot of detail.

Thanks. I've been meaning to try my hand at more metal (it's a challenge) and I'm pretty happy with the results. I don't actually know what "white key lighting" is. But if I used it to good effect, then bully for me.

Haha, key lighting is the sharp light meant to add form and detail to a character while also helping enhance the atmosphere, usually on the shaded side of a character. In this case, it's a little different, but it totally works.

And of course, in this case, it's white. Which is rare, but okay. It's great!

Now I'm rambling, haha!

So what you're saying is, I'm using key lighting in a rare and different way. Pushing the boundaries so to speak. I'm a trailblazer without knowing it.

Either that or I've had no formal art training and I'm making things up as I go and I got lucky :)

I prefer trailblazer.
